An Ode to My New Favorite Fragrance
Oh Sweet Whiskey, you delightful Bath & Body Works fragrance, how you make me swoon! From your tantalizing top notes to your warm, boozy base, you are absolutely intoxicating in the best possible way. Let me count the ways I adore you!
Your Notes Are Divine
Sweet Whiskey opens with vivacious top notes of juicy Clementine, Apple, and fresh Gardenias. The Clementine adds a bright pop of citrus, while the Apple brings a crisp, fruity tartness. But it’s the Gardenias that really shine here, lending their lush floral loveliness to the mix.
As Sweet Whiskey dries down, the sensual heart notes begin to emerge. Peach Nectar and Jasmine Petals smooth out the fruits and flowers with their honeyed, heady warmth. There’s also a whisper of Orange Blossom, underscoring the citrusy top notes while transitioning to the deeper middle phase.
Finally, Sweet Whiskey’s base notes provide the boozy richness this fragrance is known for. Vanilla Bourbon, Warm Amber, and Smoked Woods come together to create a syrupy, seductive blend with just a touch of smokiness. The Vanilla and Amber add a gourmand sweetness, while the Woods provide an earthy depth.

It’s a New Favorite Seasonal Scent
Sweet Whiskey is a relatively new fragrance that Bath & Body Works released for the annual Fall/Winter seasonal collections. It first appeared in 2020 and quickly became a standout thanks to its mouthwatering gourmand notes with a boozy twist. I was thrilled when Bath & Body Works brought Sweet Whiskey back for the 2021 Fall/Winter lineup due to popular demand!
While Sweet Whiskey is billed as a seasonal, I’m hoping Bath & Body Works keeps it around for many Fall and Winter releases to come. It’s the perfect cozy, warming scent for cooler weather and one of the brand’s most unique and intoxicating fragrances yet. Fingers crossed this one becomes a signature!
It Layers Beautifully
One of my favorite aspects of Sweet Whiskey is how beautifully all the products layer together. I like to start with the Shower Gel, then apply the Body Cream fresh out of the shower while my skin is still lightly damp. Next, I spritz on the Fragrance Mist for an extra hit of heady, boozy scent. Finally, I’ll use the Hand Cream to keep my hands soft and fragranced.
Layering the different formulas really helps the Sweet Whiskey notes last even longer. The scent evolves throughout the day as the various top, middle, and base notes interact with my body chemistry. I often catch whiffs of peachy Jasmine or vanilla Bourbon long after initial application. Masterfully crafted!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn Sweet Whiskey and received heartfelt compliments from friends, family, and even strangers out in public! It’s one of those fragrances that just captivates people and draws them in (likely due to the enchanting booziness).
My partner says Sweet Whiskey reminds him of fresh peaches drizzled with honey bourbon. My best friend swears the amber note makes her nostalgic for fall bonfires and makes me smell cozily “huggable.” And I can’t count how many times I’ve been stopped by someone asking what perfume I’m wearing! So if you’re looking to intrigue and delight with your scent, look no further than Sweet Whiskey.
It’s Surprisingly Versatile
Despite its name and boozy notes, I find Sweet Whiskey surprisingly versatile for wearing during different times of day. The zippy citrus opening makes it fresh enough for daytime wear, while the sensual vanilla base is seductive enough for evenings out. I love how it seamlessly transitions from AM to PM.
Sweet Whiskey also adapts well to different seasons. It’s rich and spicy enough for cooler Fall and Winter days but also breezy enough thanks to the fruits and florals. I don’t usually turn to gourmand fragrances in Spring and Summer, but I may have to make an exception for this delightfully complex scent.
It’s Enticing Yet Comforting
I find Sweet Whiskey strikes the perfect balance of being enticing yet comforting. On the one hand, the booziness and warmth make it mysterious and alluring. But on the other, the vanilla, peach, and floral give it familiarity and approachability. This makes Sweet Whiskey an intriguing crowd-pleaser, appealing to a wide range of fragrance fans.
